Devil May Care Blog Tour {Guest Post & Giveaway}

Welcome to my stop on the Devil May Care Blog Tour! Devil May Care is the sequel to the snarky and sexy Luck of the Devil. Author Patricia Eimer is here today sharing a typical day in the life of her book's feisty heroine, princess of Hell and daughter of Satan, Faith. Enjoy the guest post and enter the awesome giveaway ;)

Angels, Demons and Dysfunction: A Day in the Life of Faith
By Patricia Eimer

A day in the life of Faith (hour by hour):

12 am: Rounds on Rogers Children’s Hospital ICU unit. Fifteen patients in ward.  Three under my direct care. All sleeping. Helped another nurse with wound care on a burn patient while student nurse watched. Was vomited on twice. Once by student nurse. Once by patient as a sympathetic reaction to student nurse. Wonder just how much work it takes to get regurgitated cherry jello vomit out of my hair.

1 am: Hair is crusty. Student nurse is apologetic. Need coffee. Call light. So much for coffee.

2 am: Still no coffee. Damn it. Don’t I have a break coming up soon? Forced to run Malachi out of empty room and off Skinemax. Really, there are sick kids in this place. No one needs to hear those sorts of noises at the end of a dark hall. Especially me. Besides, who in their right minds uses a breadstick that way? May never eat Italian food again.

3 am: Patient (not mine) coded. Forced to kick the crap out of Angel of Death’s minion until soul returned. Still haven’t gotten my break. Or coffee.  Considering asking Harold if he’ll do my charting so I can ditch out for five minutes. He’s better at it than I am anyway. Even if he is a ghost.

VBT: Addictions of a Sex Demon by Jaye Shields {Guest Post + Giveaway}

Tap into your inner sex demon...
Even when the relationship is doomed to fail

My name is Jaye and I’m here to talk a little bit about my latest release, Addictions of a Sex Demon. If you’ve read Confessions of a Sex Demon, you’ve already met Sephina. Hopefully you liked her because Addictions is her book. In the third book of my trilogy, we get more of the succubus and see her struggle with addiction. As a sex demon, she needs climax to survive, but it’s her dependency on drugs that’s causing her strife. After a nightmarish childhood, she’s become addicted to the only things that can take away the dark memories. So the last person she needs to meet is a dead-sexy drug dealer when her and her sister Zahra move into a new town to escape her troubled past.

Enter drug dealer/town healer Axel Stavros, who only deals to control what’s on the streets of his town. And there’s no way in hell he’s selling to Sephina after he lays eyes on her. Conflict much? When the dealer refuses her, Sephina doesn’t know whether to beat him or to sex him up.

I love the characters in Addictions of a Sex Demon because they are both flawed, and yet at their core, they are beautiful, compassionate, lively demons who just want what we all do. A happily ever after.

Find out if I give it to them ;)

Addictions of a Sex Demon is available as of February 18th, 2012.

XOXO  Jaye

Bookend Tour: Betrayed by Shadows by Nancy Gideon {Guest Post + Giveaway}

Happy Friday! Today I'm hosting a stop on Nancy Gideon's Betrayed by Shadows Bookend Tour. Nancy is sharing a few of her reading pet peeves, her newest book in the Moonlight Series and has a fabulous giveaway you won't want to miss!

The Reading Experience by Nancy Gideon

I love a book that pulls me in on the first page and doesn’t let me go until the last. I love a book that has me so engaged, I forget the time, the place, the fact that I was supposed to be in bed asleep two hours ago. I love a book that can make me laugh out loud, that has me smiling or crying or holding my breath as I turn the pages.

A good book entertains.  A GREAT book transports. It’s the 3D IMAX experience that springs from the page and surrounds you with the sights and sounds and emotions of the characters and worlds it creates.  It makes you reluctant to leave and eager to return.

One of the most frustrating things for me as a reader is to get pulled out of that immersive enjoyment.  Who else hates it when the projector gets fuzzy in the middle of an action scene . . . or worse yet, the love scene when you’re invested in a movie?  It breaks the mood and sometimes it’s next to impossible to get back to that intimate participation.

We all have our pet peeves, things that annoy or interrupt our reading pleasure.  Here are a few of mine:

Addicted to Love, Romance and Relationships? Remember Reality!
By Carol Van Atta

Like most authors of paranormal romance, I like the idea of love and romance with a paranormal twist or two that spices things up for the couple. I’m also a fan of love that is intense, at times irrational, and even impulsive. It makes for great reading.  However, because of the hot topics we write and/or read about, we might want to consider adding a warning label to our special brand of sexy, supernatural shenanigans.

Warning: Hot and Heavy Romance leading to heated hormones and hellacious heartbreak may result from attempting to replicate the relationships in this book.

What I’m saying … we need to keep our feelings for steamy supernatural romances that have the potential to shred our hearts and maybe even our hope, in check.

Libby is an Enchantress—a witch gifted by the Goddess to conjure spells. When a magical presence is detected around a recent string of feline slayings, Libby takes the case to uncover the reasons behind the odd deaths. Much to her displeasure, the coven also sends a sexy warlock, Kale, to assist her.

While having the muscle around proves to be useful, fighting the attraction between them is worse than a hex, especially considering Kale is keeping secrets. But soon, Libby has bigger problems than the elusive warlock when her spells turn up clues that point to something far more sinister than slaughtered cats.

Now Libby has landed herself in the midst of an uprising. She trusts no one and isn’t safe—not from the warlocks stirring up trouble. Not from the worrisome rebellion she can’t escape. And certainly not from Kale, who is weaving a very dangerous spell over her heart.

Guest Post: Meet the Heroes of the RULERS OF DARKNESS series by Amanda J. Greene

Hello everyone!

I would like to thank Lori for hosting me and allowing me to share my books with fellow lovers of paranormal romance. Today, I’m going to introduce the leading men of my Rulers of Darkness series.

They are all tall, powerful, sexy vampires.

Let's start off with Dorian Vlakhos from Caressed by Moonlight.

“It isn't as clear as the country.”

“I'm sorry?”

“The sky. It is clearer in the country,” Victoria said as she stepped from the shadows of the trees.

The man turned to face her and she gasped as if she had been struck. He was tall, taller than any man she had ever seen, muscled and thick. Strands of deep brown hair fell across his angelic yet masculine face, her fingers twitched with the desire to brush them away from his magnificent eyes. Those fathoms of blue were like the sea after a tremendous storm, piercing, penetrating, and exotic. His jaw was straight and square, his lips thin and alluring. He was absolutely beautiful, in a dangerous, very masculine way.

“Yes.” Dorian’s delicious lips turned up in a smile.

His husky voice moved over her skin like a caress, her entire body was aflame as his smoldering gaze that roamed over her, leaving nothing untouched.

"Valentine's Day on Olympus" by Lisa Beth Darling {Guest Post + Giveaway}

Valentine's Day on the Island: Alena
By Lisa Beth Darling

Nervously Alena wandered from room to room in the cave making sure everything was perfect for the big night ahead.  She sent Raven, her oldest child, off with his Sister, Rose, to an adjacent island off for the night with strict instructions not to return until well after noon tomorrow. The next twenty-four hours were for Ares and her alone.

She almost lost her Husband a few months ago, he'd been so sick with Major Fall, out of his mind with fever as his body wasted away under the influence of the dreaded disease. He'd recovered, she saw to that, it was rough and distasteful but Alena would do anything to ensure her Husband's continued good health.

And she did.

Feeling back to his old self, Ares charged back out into the Mortal World with Raven and Athena. He was gone for weeks on end, leaving her alone with little Rose.  Tonight being the very first Valentine's Day since she awoke from her long sleep, she made it clear to him that he was to be here with her tonight and nowhere else.  The Mortal World would have to take care of its battered self for an entire day. It had been far too long since last they made love or even curled up by a roaring fire to talk and laugh over glasses of Nectar.  King of Olympus or not, it was high time Ares came home and took care of his Wife for a while.  When she warned that wouldn't take 'no' for an answer, Ares shook his dark head and smiled down at her as he told her he would be here tonight promptly at 8 o'clock just as she asked.

It was just past 7 o'clock now.

With the Throne Room turned Parlor shining from the top of the rock walls to the dirt floor at her feet, a bed of pillows lay before a crackling fire blazing in the massive hearth the big table was laden with Ares' favorite foods, pitchers of Nectar and bottles of wine ready for pouring. She skittered up the steps to the bedroom to change for the evening.   Every step made her giddy with anticipation as she stripped to her bare alabaster skin leaving a trail of clothing behind her.

Welcome to the last stop on The Cat's Meow Blog Tour! Stacey Kennedy is here today, sharing five things her heroine can't resist and is giving readers a chance to win their own copy of The Cat's Meow. Stick around and show some love to this fabulous author ;)

Huge thanks to Romancing the Dark Side for letting me stop by today, especially since this is the last stop on The Cat’s Meow blog tour! So, Lori has asked me this question: “List 5 Things My Character Can’t Resist?”

Libby from The Cat’s Meow has a few weaknesses—like we all do—and here are her favorite things she can’t turn her back on.

1. Freshly baked apple scones, because really, don’t we all need something sweet and freshly baked every once in a while?

2. Tea with sugar and milk….and it’s even better when a hunky warlock brings you the tea.

3. Corsets and jeans are Libby’s favorite type of clothing. So, put her in a store that sells these things and you’d make her very happy!

Guest Post: "Things I Love to Hear My Readers Say" by Selena Blake

Hello Romancing the Dark Side! Thanks for letting me take over the blog today.

Since it's the month of love, I thought I'd talk about things I love to hear (or see) my readers say. Maybe this list will give you some ideas on how to make your favorite author's day.

Ready?

1.  I'm telling all my friends about you/your book/series.

I am always excited to talk books with my friends. And the excitement is even greater when one of us has read a really awesome book. There's something very satisfying about being able to relate to others about a story.

I love the idea that readers are chatting with their friends about my work.

2.  I loved your series. I've read them all!

No one forces us to read an entire series, so when a reader does, it's all the more gratifying to me as an author. It means they stuck it out through all the highs and lows.

3.  I'm off to reread your book/series.

I reread my favorites. It's a rush when readers put my work into that coveted classification. To me it's right up there with being on a reader's auto-buy list.

Love is in the Air Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Love is in the Air Giveaway Hop!
This hop is hosted by the fabulous maidens over at Under the Covers Book Blog and runs from February 7th through February 14th. We have over 100 blogs participating and hosting some awesome prizes during this hop, so there are plenty of chances to win!

Since this theme is centered around Valentine's Day, I chose to share my favorite literary couple for 2012 as my book giveaway. A few years ago I accidentally stumbled upon the a book by Larissa Ione, Pleasure Unbound, and was introduced to the fabulous Demoncia brothers. I quickly devoured those books and needless to say, was left wanting. Well, it wasn't long before Ms. Ione came through for me and gave us some more sexy men to drool over, The Lords of Deliverance. I fell in love with the four horsemen of the Apocalypse and found a new favorite paranormal couple in Regan and Thanatos.

In Lethal Rider, Than, the horseman of Death meets his match in Regan, an Aegis Guardian. While their relationship begins in betrayal, these two strong personalities heat up the pages with their intense chemistry and even make you laugh with their great sense of humor. I won't give away any more, but hope you enjoy a couple of my fave quotes from the book...
