Celia Wird and her three sisters are just like other 20-something girls—with one tiny exception: they're products of a backfired curse that has given each of them unique powers that make them, well, a little weird…

The Wird sisters are different from every race on earth—human and supernatural. When human society is no longer an option for them, they move in among the resident vampires, werebeasts, and witches of the Lake Tahoe region. Could this be the true home they’ve longed for? Um, not quite.

After the sisters accidentally strip a witch of her powers in a bar brawl, they soon realize the mistake will cost them. Because to take on a witch means to take on her coven. And losing the battle isn’t an option.

Being weird was never this dangerous!

In Cecy Robson's debut novel we're introduced to the Wird sisters, four young women with individual supernatural abilities bestowed upon them in the form of a curse. After trying and failing to blend into society, they venture to Lake Tahoe, where supernaturals are the region's main residents. The Wird sisters love to have a good time and soon one highly anticipated night out on the town turns into a supernatural battle when the sisters get into a scuffle with witches who threaten their chance at a fresh start and new home.

The Weird Girls is a fantastic introduction to the Wird sister's world. The story takes off into an action packed thrill ride from the first few pages and never stops. The characters are well developed for a novella and the world building is creative. The story is told by the POV of the oldest Wird sister, Celia, who is quite a character.

Celia, along with the other sisters has a great sense of humor and kicks major butt. I love that she's willing to sacrifice herself to save her sisters and will stop at nothing to protect them, she's pretty much the main character in this story and easy to connect with. She's a fighter, smart and always has a witty comeback that keeps you entertained. The author does a phenomenal job of showcasing each sister's personality and conveying the emotional relationship between them without losing veering from the plot.

Just when you think the story is headed down a road, Cecy manages to shock you with some heart stopping twists and turns! The greatest element for me in The Weird Girls is the lack of a male lead, the all female cast is inventive and works beautifully in this story. That being said, I'm sure she'll have some swoon-worthy alphas in her next book. If you're looking for a unique blend of the supernatural, magic, humor and girl power...look no further, the Wird sisters deliver!
