Welcome to my stop on the On Demon Wings Blog Tour, hosted by Seeing Night Reviews. Today I have the fun, fabulous and outspoken heroine of the Experiment in Terror Series, Perry Palomino (how great is that name, right?) who's anxious to chat with us on love and the paranormal. You never know what she'll say next so let's get the party started...
When Love and Ghost-Hunting Don’t Mix
By Perry Palomino
We all know some simple life/love rules like “exes are off-limits” and “always accept a compliment”, now I’m throwing in “Don’t mix love and ghost-hunting” to the adage pile. OK, so this rule will probably only apply to me (and perhaps Jennifer Love Hewitt) but it’s still the truth.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But when you watch scary movies with a guy, or go on roller coaster rides, the adrenaline makes you bond with them.” YEAH. EXACTLY. Heightened situations sometimes accelerate the swooning process, so now you’ve got adrenaline helping your hormones along. Look, my hormones don’t need the help, there’s only so much willpower in me that keeps me from grabbing a certain someone’s backside when he’s not looking. Or his frontside. It’s madness I tell you.
Also, think about the last time you were scared to death. You nearly peed your pants, didn’t you? How is peeing your pants attractive? I don’t want to have to wear Depends every time I go ghost-hunting and I know Billy Madison won’t be hanging around to cover for me.
Not to mention freaking the fuck out and screaming all over the place doesn’t do your looks any favors. How is this attractive?
Then there’s the whole being a chickenshit issue. I really try to man up and face the music but damn it if some days I don’t feel like walking into a haunted mental asylum. But then I have this guy with me that I’m secretly in love with him and I don’t want to seem like a sissy pants in front of him, so I have to swallow my fear and just do it. Thank goodness for the few times we both have the common sense to run away.
Add in the fact that we are usually traveling somewhere on location and I’m wearing the same smelly thing for days and my makeup’s all ruined and my hair is a mess and I lost my toothbrush days ago. Yeesh. It’s actually a wonder I’m not cracking your computer screen every week.
So there you have it, girls. If you’re ever in the situation where your love life and ghosts might collide, back away slowly. Ghosts are scary enough – you don’t need to add love into the mix.
On Demon Wings
Experiment in Terror ~ Book Five
by Karina Halle
When
the life you wanted has crumbled beneath your fingers, there’s nothing
left to do but pick up the pieces and soldier on. You’ve done this
before.
But
what happens when you no longer feel like yourself anymore? When fires
spontaneously start-up around you, when you hear growling coming from
underneath your bed, and you no longer recognize your face in the
mirror. What happens then?
Ghost-hunter
Perry Palomino doesn’t have much time to find out. Now, the evil she
used to hunt is a lot closer to home. It’s inside of her, taking over
her life bit-by-terrifying bit, and there’s only one person who can help
her.
