US vs UK {2}: Immortals After Dark Series

It's time for another US vs UK feature round!

Since I've recently gotten back to reading these awesome books, I thought it'd be appropriate to take a look at the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole this week.

Check 'em out for yourself, the US cover being on the left and the UK on the right. Note: Some books in this series have the same cover in both the US and UK so I've chosen to omit those.

The US series starts off with sexy covers of the main couples of the books and then transitioned into having the hero only, where the UK covers soley have one character on their cover. I was a little upset when the covers changed from couples to a single character but the guys are so hot I realized I could live without them!

I love both title fonts used for each series, the bright colors and how each cover incorporates a full moon in the background.

My issue with the UK covers is that as appealing as they are they give off a young adult vibe in my opinion. I also am not a fan of the alternating guy/girl covers. The US covers have a sexier and more adult appearance that is appropriate for a paranormal romance.

While I don't hate the UK covers in this series, I'd hands down choose the US covers if I saw both versions side by side in a bookstore. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a half naked man on a book cover!

Total so far: US: 1, UK:1

Which would you choose as your favorite?

  1. The UK covers look a bit like the Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood Books and I'd probably avoid these assuming they're a cheap rip off, no offence...
    I prefer US. :P

  2. I prefer the US covers especially for the two most recent books.

  3. The last two U.S covers are my favorite. I hope the publisher sticks with that type of cover.
