Living in the US, I usually don't get a glimpse of UK book covers...but when I saw that Larissa Ione had revealed the US and UK versions of her latest book, Eternal Rider, I was amazed at how different each was from the other. I was actually jealous of all those UK readers that would get the detailed and colorful cover when I had to settle for the black and white version (not that the model isn't hot!). So I got to thinking "Wow, I wonder how many other UK covers beat or fall short when compared to US versions?" and this is how my feature of US vs UK was born.
My first US vs UK feature cover is Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione, the first book in the Lords of Deliverance series. Check 'em out, the US cover being on the left and the UK on the right.
This was a close tie for me but I really think that the UK cover really conveys the concept of the book. Sure the guy on the US cover is hot and mysterious but it just wouldn't stand out next to it's UK brother on a bookshelf. My winner is the UK cover this time around! I can't wait to compare the rest of the books in the series once they're released.
Which would you choose as the winner?
