On My Wishlist {5}

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City that runs every Saturday. It's where you share a list of books you've been dreaming about but haven't purchased yet. They can be old, new or upcoming releases. For more information click here.

Here's what's on my wishlist this week...

The Half-Breed Edition

Darkness Unbound by Keri Arthur
{Dark Angels Series ~ Book #1}
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: September 27, 2011

Risa Jones is as extraordinary as her heritage. Born from a lab-enhanced clone mother and an Aedh father, she can not only talk to the souls of the dying and the dead, but she can see the reapers and walk the gray fields that divide this world from the next.

They are skill she rarely uses, however, preferring to concentrate on the business she shares with her two best friends. But when her mother asks her to help the parents of a little girl locked in a coma, she reluctantly agrees. What she discovers scares the hell out of her. Because the little girl’s soul no longer resides in her body, and it wasn’t death and the reapers that took her.

Someone had ripped her soul from her flesh.

As it turns out, a creature consuming the souls of the innocent–and not so innocent–is the least of her problems. Because someone wants to rip open the gates that divided hell from earth, and Risa is a key component in their plans. And the only person standing between her and disaster is a reaper who isn’t exactly on her side. (Goodreads)

The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: November 15, 2011

Daphne is the half-demon, half-fallen angel daughter of Lucifer and Lilith. Life for her is an endless expanse of time, until her brother Obie is kidnapped—and Daphne realizes she may be partially responsible. Determined to find him, Daphne travels from her home in Pandemonium to the vast streets of Earth, where everything is colder and more terrifying. With the help of the human boy she believes was the last person to see her brother alive, Daphne glimpses into his dreams, discovering clues to Obie’s whereabouts. As she delves deeper into her demonic powers, she must navigate the jealousies and alliances of the violent archangels who stand in her way. But she also discovers, unexpectedly, what it means to love and be human in a world where human is the hardest thing to be. (Goodreads)

Two heroines who are as unique as their gifts make up my wish list today. Half-breeds are always interesting characters to me, they tend to have an inner struggle and vulnerability that draws you into their world. If the blurbs aren't enough to entice you, just look at those beautiful covers! I don't know about you guys but I'm anxious to read more about these rare heroines!

What's on your wishlist this week?
