Once upon a time…the Blood Sorcerer vanquished the kingdom of Elden.

To save their children, the queen scattered them to safety and the king filled them with vengeance.

Only a magical timepiece connects the four royal heirs…and time is running out.…

For practical Reda Weston, nothing could explain how reading a sexy version of "Little Red Riding Hood" catapulted her into another realm—face-to-fang with the legendary wolf-creature who seduced women. A wolf who transformed into a dark, virile man….

Dayn cursed the Sorcerer that turned him wolfyn and damned him to a lonely fate. As a beast, he mated with women to gain strength.

Strength he needed to rescue his royal parents. But as a man, he craved Reda's heated, sizzling touch. With little time left, Dayn had to either embrace his wolf to save his kingdom…or fight it to save his woman. (Goodreads)

 My Romancing Thoughts:

This bad wolf can ravage me any day!

In a sexy re-telling of "Little Red Riding Hood," The Royal House of Shadows series continues with the story of Dayn and Reda.

Like his brothers and sister, Dayn was sent to another realm by his mother in order to survive the evil Sorcerer who sought his father's throne. The second son of the King and Queen of Elden, Dayn was cast into the world of the wolfyn, becoming a beast with dark and sensual powers. It is said that a guide will come for him and aid him in the journey back to his kingdom, a guide Dayn has almost given up hope of finding. When his guide finally arrives, Dayn is taken by surprise not only with the fact that she's human, but that she has no knowledge of how to guide him on his journey in which time is of the essence.

Reda Weston is a cop who is dealing with the loss of her partner. Feelings of grief and guilt have led her to seek solace in the one thing that gives her comfort, fairy tales. For quite some time, Reda has been searching for a specific book, a relic storybook of Little Red Riding Hood her mother once spoke about. She's finally found the infamous book, but being transported to another world while reading it and coming face to face with the bid bad wolf was not what Reda had planned. Together Reda and Dayn will attempt to fulfill their destiny without losing their hearts along the way.

Lord of the Wolfyn really won me over. It's by far my favorite in the Royal House of Shadows series. The story is enthralling, Ms. Andersen gives you a spectacular view of her dark world with her descriptive writing and transports you right to each scene. I really loved Dayn's character, while he's not as Alpha as his brothers, he's chivalrous and loyal, not to mention he's a hawt shapeshifter (yes I know it's mispelled but he's that hot!)...what's not to love right? Reda didn't live up to my standards of a heroine, for being a cop she was extremely insecure and cowardly, not what I expected. Yet despite their different personalities, these two characters mesh pretty well. I love the interaction between Reda and Dayn and how they complement each other, their chemistry is strong and sexy!

A fast paced sexy adventure, Lord of the Wolfyn will keep you turning the pages in anticipation. Thorough characters and extensive world building allow the reader to connect to the story, even with its complex backstory and ever shifting timelines. The Royal House of Shadows is filled with tons of emotion: betrayal, suspense, vengeance, love and romance, that captivates you from the start and leaves you wanting more. I, for one cannot wait to meet the youngest and most feared brother, Micah and see what fate holds for this royal family, in what I'm sure will be an epic conclusion!

"Waiting on" Wednesday: To Walk the Night

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're anxiously awaiting.

My pick for this Wednesday...

To Walk the Night by E.S. Moore

Even a vampire has to face her inner demons…

Kat Redding is the very thing she hunts: a vampire, thirsting for blood, capable of killing any creature unlucky enough to get in her path. The difference is, Kat kills her own kind in order to protect human Purebloods. She’s good at what she does. Good enough to earn the nickname Lady Death—and the enmity of every bloodthirsty being around. But now a vampire Count is intent on merging his House with a werewolf cult to create a force of terrifying power.

Kat can’t allow that to happen. Even if it means taking on a den of weres and a vampire more ruthless than any she’s encountered before. She has the weapons, the skill, and a few allies. But that may not be enough to eliminate the Count before her own dark nature rises to the surface—and costs her whatever is left of her humanity… (Goodreads)

*Release Date: January 3, 2012

Why I'm waiting:
A vampire who hunts her own kind and and werewolves? That's enough to get my interest! The cover is dark and gritty and has a real "Underworld" feel to it, not to mention the heroine looks pretty bad ass.  I'll be waiting for this release impatiently.

What are you waiting on this week? Feel free to share in the comments!

Review: Holiday Bound by Beth Kery

Title: Holiday Bound
Author: Beth Kery
Genre: Erotic Romance
Publisher: Samhain Publishing
Format: ebook, 110 pages
Source: My Copy
Buy it here: B&N

The Oedipal Complex has never been so sexy…

Alex Carradine can’t believe his father wants to come and visit his ski resort. Could it be that after so many stormy years, “slick Mitch” Carridine wants to offer an olive branch? Maybe the old man is mellowing, settling down with the new lover he’s bringing along.

Then Alex realizes the acid truth. This is no warm family visit. His father’s latest conquest is none other than the woman of Alex’s sexual fantasies, meant only to dangle tauntingly in front of his face. At least an unexpected blizzard has frozen his father out of the picture entirely.

Angeline Kastakis was looking forward to taking the next step in her relationship with Mitch. Too late she realizes she’s been led into a familial battle zone. Now it’s Christmas and she’s marooned in a blizzard with an insolent, gorgeous hunk of man whose blazing blue eyes tell her loud and clear he wants her in his bed. Preferably tied to it with a bow.

There’s no escape in sight. But as Alex stirs her secret longing to be mastered by a man, escape is the last thing on her mind… (Goodreads)

 My Romancing Thoughts:

The perfect read to heat up your holidays!

When Angeline is invited by her (older) boyfriend Mitch Carradine on a weekend trip to his son's ski resort, she gladly accepts, with hopes of taking their relationship to the next level. On her way there, she becomes stranded due to a massive blizzard and is rescued by none other than the handsomely rugged Alex, Mitch's son. With nowhere to go, Angeline is faced with spending her long awaited Christmas weekend, with a sexy stranger instead. There is no love lost between Alex and his father Mitch, but when he's in the presence of his father's latest conquest, Angeline, she sparks an uncontrollable, primal desire in him that tests his willpower like no woman ever has...

Holiday Bound is a sexy and sensual story with character depth and substance. I was pleasantly surprised with the author's style of blending erotica with contemporary romance. Angeline is a fun leading lady who comes off as a little naive but quickly shows us she's anything but. Alex is an Alpha lover's dream come true with his brute manner, tender heart and dominant ways, it's hard to not fall for his character!

Kery pens an erotic holiday tale that is sure to keep you warm on those cold winter nights. The pairing of characters is perfect and so is their chemistry. I devoured this short novella and though I was left wanting more, enjoyed it immensely. If a little submission and scorching scenes of passion are your cup of tea in a story, look no further, you won't be disappointed with Holiday Bound!

My Rating

*Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Light bondage, BDSM theme and elements.

Mini Review: Blood Oath by Belinda Boring

Title: Blood Oath
Author: Belinda Boring
Series" {Mystic Wolves ~ Book #3}
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Publisher: Moonstruck Media
Format: ebook
Source: Author
Buy it here: Amazon | B&N | Smashwords

Someone is trying to send a deadly message to Mason, arranging the deaths of those he loves and it puts the entire pack and Alpha on high alert. Plans are made but when the enemy strikes another painful blow by entering into the heart of pack property and kidnapping Darcy, Mason declares war. There’s nothing he won’t do to keep his future mate and pack safe.

Darcy understands the primal instincts driving her beloved Mason’s commands. With the help of those he sets as protectors, she learns about herself and the things she’ll need to help support her Alpha and pack. When events turn dire however, one truth offers her strength – once given, a blood oath is unbreakable … even if it means risking it all. (Goodreads)

 My Romancing Thoughts:

Mason and Darcy are simply spellbinding!

In book two, Cherished, Mason and Darcy learn that their love can overcome any obstacle. Book three, Blood Oath, wastes no time in getting right to the action. While the pack is preparing to say their goodbyes to one of their own, Mason receives a message threatening those he loves. Measures are taken to secure everyone's well being but Mason's adversary proves to be one step ahead of him. When Darcy is kidnapped Mason's inner wolf is ready for battle and will stop at nothing to get his love and future mate back where she belongs.

This installment in the series gives us an inside look at the members of the pack, its allies and their close knit relationships. Mason and Darcy's bond goes way beyond the physical and will melt your heart! Devlin and Daniel are great supporting characters that add a touch of humor and a little spice to the story. Never a dull moment, Blood Oath had it all, emotion, romance, action and a few laughs. Belinda is a natural at writing raw, emotional scenes that jump off the pages and into your heart.

Blood Oath ranks as my favorite in the series so far and I'll be anxiously awaiting for the next action-packed adventure in Mason and Darcy's lives. The cliffhanger at the end left me stunned and wanting more and I know Belinda will deliver! If you're a romantic at heart and love a book with a true Alpha, this is the series for you!

Blood Oath by Belinda Boring
Mystic Wolves ~ Book Three

Someone is trying to send a deadly message to Mason, arranging the deaths of those he loves and it puts the entire pack and Alpha on high alert. Plans are made but when the enemy strikes another painful blow by entering into the heart of pack property and kidnapping Darcy, Mason declares war. There’s nothing he won’t do to keep his future mate and pack safe.

With the help of those he sets as protectors, she learns about herself and the things she’ll need to help support her Alpha and pack. When events turn dire however, one truth offers her strength – once given, a blood oath is unbreakable … even if it means risking it all.

Here's a yummy teaser:

“ … I know I’ll spend the remainder of my life fulfilling my promise, even when it means I’m stuck with a family member who thinks he’s reached bad ass status by calling himself Vlad.” He scoffed as he ran his fingers through his hair before crossing his arms over his chest. “Of course, maybe it’s an improvement from his birth name, which was Cuthbert. I called him Bertie for short, which annoyed him to no end.”
I snorted. “Really?” I asked, loving the way he was sharing about his family. I couldn’t remember the last time he had talked this long about himself. I was almost too hesitant to interrupt. “Well, it could’ve been worse, you know?”
“How so?” He asked, looking curious.
“He could’ve called himself Edward, or Jasper. Sparkling is the “in” thing right now.”
Devlin groaned loudly.
“I would’ve staked him myself.”
Laughing hard, I grabbed my sides as I imagined him chasing poor Vlad around the room with a stake. Just when I thought I could stop, an image of Devlin glittering in the sun filled my mind, sending me into another round of hysterics.
“Now what?” he said, scowling at my laughter.
“I was picturing what you’d look like as a Cullen. I think you’d totally rock the sparkle.”
“Yeah, enough.” He held up his hand, shaking his head. “Next topic.”

The Immortalis Series Virtual Book Tour: Interview with Katie Salidas + Giveaway

Welcome to my stop on the Immortalis Series Virtual Book Tour! Today I have a fun interview with author Katie Salidas who's here to tell us a little of her fabulous vampire series and new release Pandora's Box. If you love vampires, a strong heroine and major sexual tension in a paranormal romance, this series is for you! Stay tuned for the awesome giveaways at the end of the post...yeah I said giveaways!

Who is Katie Salidas?

I am Super Woman… Endowed with special powers and abilities, beyond those of mortal women, I can get the munchkin off to gymnastics, cheerleading, Girl Scouts, and swim lessons.  I can put hot food on the table for dinner while assisting with homework, baths, and bedtime… And, I still find time to keep the hubby happy (nudge nudge wink wink). I can do all of this and still have time to write my novels.

Sorry… I can’t even write that with a straight face.

Lies all lies.

Here’s the reality. I’m a sleep-deprived, overworked, mom who just doesn’t know the meaning of the word balance. Writing is my passion and so is my family, so I try to do it all when I can. Needless to say that leaves me feeling pretty exhausted most days.

How long have you been writing?  What inspired you to start?

I’ve been writing since I was little. I always loved to make up stories and characters. It’s just a part of who I am. My first official writing project, was a novel I attempted to write when I was 14. I had just finished reading the Vampire Diaries series and wanted to make my own teenage story. I had most of it written and then was told we were moving from Texas to Nevada. Sadly those pages were all lost in the move. Though that accident hurt, it didn’t stop me from writing. I don’t write YA style stuff any longer, but I do still write about vampires and other such creatures of the night. They’re just so much fun to work with!

What drew you to the paranormal genre?

I love vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and other things that go bump in the night. I remember as a kid, watching the old Dracula movies and being interested vs. scared. When I was ten, I read my first vampire book and never looked back. There is an escape there, in the supernatural world, it adds a layer to life that makes the mundane not so dull. To imagine other creatures, other beings living amongst us yet still hidden in the shadows was such an interesting concept.

Do you ever have problems with your characters doing what you wanted them to do?

All the time! LoL. I call that writer’s block. It’s also the reason I am a pantser. When I first started to write “officially” I thought I had to plot out every detail of my story ahead of time. Then my characters revolted! The refused to do what I had set out for them to do. That stalled my story and made me so frustrated at writing, I almost gave up. Then, I got some sage advice. Just relax and “free write.” I took a break and let myself write other things without a pre-planned plot. It was then that I learned I was a pantser. I don’t work well with strict rules and outlines. Now that I know that, my writing has become easier and my characters are more cooperative.

That’s not to say I never run into writer’s block. I still do from time to time, and there are many days where I have to scrap whole chapters because I have written myself into a corner. But, even with those stumbling blocks I’m still writing and creating.

While working on a story, do you type directly onto the computer or are there notebooks and plot ideas jotted down in various places?

Most of my writing is done on my laptop. I love the portability of it. I do, however, have a few notebooks lying around and I have notes on my phone as well.

What do you do when you’re not writing/editing/promoting or thinking about writing/editing/promoting?

You mean there is something else besides writing/editing/promoting? LoL.

Actually, all of my non-work time is devoted to family. I work so many hours on the computer doing just that, writing, editing, and promoting that they often feel neglected. Weekends are work-free time (otherwise the family would mutiny). And family dinner, movie night, and game night are a staple in our house.

What is your muse to help you write and keeps the creative mood flowing?

Katie: Music helps, but not just any music will do. I have to listen to something that can become a sort of white noise. Sounds strange, I know. When I know a song inside and out, I can listen without listening, and just hear the “mood” of it. That’s when I can use it. I often use music to set the mood of my scene.

If the music is too unfamiliar to me, my ADD kicks in and I end up listening to the words and learning the lyrics rather than just enjoying the feel of it.
We writers are weird, huh?

Who is your favourite character in the Immortalis series, and why?

My favourite character surprises people sometimes. It’s Nicholas. He’s a secondary character in the Immortalis series, but he’s slowly taking on a more prominent role as the series progresses. He’s snarky, he’s rude, and he rubs you the wrong way. But, ultimately, he’s a good guy. My favourite scenes are the ones where he and another character are arguing. Nicholas is always right, but he has to be a jerk about it.

How would you pitch the Immortalis series to someone who has not heard of your books before?

My favorite line is actually the tag line to my first book. “Becoming a vampire is easy. Living with the condition, that’s the hard part.”

You might have read books about vampires, but how many of them took you step by step through the emotional turmoil of what that change actually entails? In Immortalis you’ll see a normal, everyday girl lose everything as she becomes a creature of the night. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Sure, there’s a learning curve there, but if she can overcome it, both she and you, the reader, will find that it can be pretty sweet!

Can you tell us a little bit about the world that the Immortalis series is set in(if you did not cover that already in previous question that is)?

The Immortalis series is set in modern times. Books one and two are set in Las Vegas Nevada, which, by the way, is the best city out there for creatures of the night. Book three, Pandora’s box takes you to Boston. There you will learn even more about the world of unnatural creatures and some of their origins in Ancient Greek Mythology.  What I wanted, was to show you how easy it would be for these creatures of the night to actually exist and oftentimes co-exist within normal society.

What Other Projects can we look forward to reading from you?

Book 4 is in the works right now and I hope to have it out by spring 2012. I can’t give too much away, but suffice to say the cliffhanger of book three will be resolved

Thanks for reading, and if you want to check out my work, you can find me at

She’s still learning to cope when a surprise confrontation with Santino Vitale, the Acta Sanctorum’s most fearsome hunter, sends her fleeing back to the world she once knew, and Fallon, the friend she’s missed more than anything.

Alyssa breaks vampire law by revealing her new, true self to her old friend, a fact which causes strong division in the group that should support her most: her clan.

Pandora’s Box (Book 3)

After a few months as a vampire, Alyssa thought she’d learned all she needed to know about the supernatural world. But her confidence is shattered by the delivery of a mysterious package – a Pandora’s Box.

Seemingly innocuous, the box is in reality an ancient prison, generated by a magic more powerful than anyone in her clan has ever known. But what manner of evil could need such force to contain it?
When the box is opened, the sinister creature within is released, and only supernatural blood will satiate its thirst. The clan soon learns how it feels when the hunter becomes the hunted.

Powerless against the ancient evil, the clan flees Las Vegas for Boston, with only a slim hope for salvation. Could Lysander’s old journals hold the key? And what if they don’t?

And how welcome will they be in a city run by a whole different kind of supernatural being?
